SPECIFIC BOOKS

We suggest you start with the gospel of John, which is the story of Jesus. Then read the book of Acts, which is the story of Christ’s followers. Then read Romans, which teaches basic theology of the new life in Christ.

After that, if you would like, try starting with Matthew and reading the entire New Testament.

Taking time to read the Bible one book at a time is a great way to get to know God’s Word

Remember that God gave us His Word to learn and know over a lifetime, so commit to studying it as often as you can. Understand that knowing the whole of God’s story will change the way you see yourself, the world, God and others.

We were not made to study the Bible just by ourselves, its more fun and we learn more with friends, brothers and sisters in Christ. Try to be in places where you are learning God’s Word as often as you can. Bible studies, church services, classes, Sunday school, home groups, lunchtime bible studies, anywhere!

PRAYER

“Lord Jesus, at times the size and complexity of the Bible scare me. Give me understanding and wisdom as I study your Word.”
