ETERNAL LIFE

Heaven is the true home and destination for believers in Jesus.

We long for the warmth of God’s presence and to dwell with Him in the place where every tear will be wiped from our eyes.

Through prayer, bring your heart, mind and life before God’s glorious throne in Heaven. Pause to feel His affection. Let His love pour over you and take comfort in the truth that He loves to be with you. You can have confidence that you will one day be with Jesus in this glorious place.

READ SCRIPTURE

REVELATIONS 22:3-6, NIV

3 “No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.

4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

6 The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.”

REVELATIONS 7:17, NIV

17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

LIVE IT

Having the right perspective about Heaven will greatly impact how you live. In your journal, write down your responses to these three questions:

– How do I picture Heaven?

– Are the images I think about consistent with what God says is true of Heaven? (Read the verses again which are listed on this page) Why or why not?

– How should the reality of Heaven motivate me to live my life?

PRAYER

“Jesus, you are the Great Shepherd. Lead me today to springs of living water and life through your Spirit! I know that you will one day wipe every tear from our eyes (Revelation 7:17), so I run this race of life all the more passionately knowing what a beautiful reality awaits me. Thank You, Jesus. In your Name I pray, Amen.”
