LEADER QUALIFICATIONS

Serving in the Body of Christ is a great honor and privilege; it is also a serious responsibility.

In the early days of the church Paul would plant new churches and would assign leaders and elders to help provide leadership.

Paul wrote a short letter in the Bible called Titus.

Titus was written as an instruction manual regarding the qualifications of church leadership. All believers should pursue these Godly qualities.

READ SCRIPTURE

TITUS

ACTS 20:28, NIV

28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

1 PETER 5:1-3, NIV

1 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ’s sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed:

2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve;

3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.

PRAYER

“Lord, thank you for being my leader. You guide me on the path of life.  Daily I choose to follow you and seek your guidance. I take the responsibility of leading very seriously and I submit myself to your leadership. Help me to respectfully care for the needs of your people according to the scriptures listed on this page. As you guide me, help me to guide others and to have great reverence for your name and holiness.  I pray these things in Jesus name, Amen.”
