Healthy trees produce healthy fruit. When we abide in Jesus and live the Spirit Filled Life we will begin to see the Fruit of the Spirit grow in our lives.

Fruit needs food and water to grow. We take in the “food” of the Bible and drink the “water” of the Spirit.

In the same way, we need to read the Word and live in the Spirit daily. It greatly pleases the Lord when we memorize the Fruits of the Spirit and practice living them daily.

JOHN 15:3-8, NIV

3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.

4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

6 If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.

7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Throughout these lessons we’ve touched on the Fruit of the Spirit several times because we think they are so important.

Spend 15 minutes, go back and memorize the Fruit of the Spirit.

Write them on a card and put it in your room or your office desk and every time you see the card read through the Fruit of the Spirit and pray that God would make that fruit evident in your life.

“Jesus, produce in me ‘Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control’ so I can please you and show your love to the world. Amen.”
