MIND OF THE SPIRIT
The world is filled with lies, but God’s Kingdom is truth. In the Spirit Filled Life we begin to think differently. We begin to think and live in the “Kingdom of God.”
Our heart and mind begins to long for eternity and paradise with God, away from the suffering of this life.
The Holy Spirit reminds us to share this truth about the Kingdom with others.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:4
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
PHILIPPIANS 4:7, NIV
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In this lesson we see that what goes on in our mind, the things we believe, may not always be true.
How do we guard our minds and take on the mind of Christ?
In Philippians 4 we find God’s promise that He will guard our hearts and minds, and in Romans 12:2 we are told ‘Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God.’
We train our mind to be like Christ by learning, reading, studying, memorizing and praying. Start by getting to know what God has already written down in the Bible. Open up to Philippians 4 and read the whole chapter.
“God, I want to discern truth from lies. Help me to diligently study and test what I believe and what others tell me against your Word and the Holy Spirit, amen.”
