FORGIVEN BY GOD
We all have trouble forgiving ourselves when we do bad things. We try to make up for our sin by saying to God, “I promise I’ll never do that again.” But sometimes we do it again and even feel worse about ourselves.
We don’t have to remain in this cycle of sin. Jesus has given us the valuable gift of forgiveness.
All Jesus wants us to do is confess our sins and admit we have been wrong. Jesus does not excuse our sin but says, “You are forgiven.”
Because of the cross all of our sins past, present and future are forgiven. Think of it? All sin is forgiven!
Be quick to confess your sins to God. The Lord wants you to live in victory!
He will ALWAYS forgive you and will help you forgive yourself and others.
I JOHN 2:2, NIV
2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
JAMES 5:16, NIV
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
This passage was written to a church full of believers. God knows that we continue to struggle with our sinful nature but He gives us a way to deal with it, confession.
Confession is agreeing with God that what we have done is wrong and against His plan.
What have you not confessed before that you still feel guilt or shame from?
God wants you to feel free from shame and condemnation. You can do that now by telling God your sin, admitting you were wrong and trusting Him to forgive like He said in 1 John.
“God, I’ve sinned in these ways…. I’ve been wrong. Thank you for you forgiveness. Help me to feel clean.”
