Purity is defined in the dictionary as “the absence of anything harmful, inferior or unwanted.”
Purity is a great reminder that Jesus “purchased” our life by His shed blood on the cross so that our harmful, inferior and unwanted sin could be washed away and we would be clean, pure and innocent.
Pray daily for God’s “living water” to wash you clean and protect you. Satan and His demons are filthy evil beings trying to pollute God’s people. God has called us to have no part in this for our own good and safety.
PSALM 119:9-10, NIV
9 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.”
JOHN 7:38, NIV
38 “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
2 CORINTHIANS 7:1, NIV
1 “Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”
Where is purity lacking in your life right now? In your thoughts? By what you look at? How about your relationships? Are you behaving in an impure way with another person?
Could you confess these things with a close and trusted Christian friend? Certainly you can confess them before your Father in Heaven:
“God Almighty, your Word says: ‘Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.’ (2 Corinthians 7:1) I confess right now the impurity in my life. Thank you for your forgiveness. Please cleanse my mind and heart as I move away from these sins and draw near to you. I deeply desire your living waters to flow from my life. May purity, holiness and truth characterize my thoughts and actions oh Lord. I trust you for this Jesus. Thank You! In your Name I pray, Amen.”
