SPIRITUAL BREATHING

Everyone stumbles along the path of life.

Fortunately, there is a great exercise called spiritual breathing that helps believers gain strength and endurance on the journey with God.

Here’s how it works.

Spiritual Breathing is exhaling the bad and inhaling the good.

Exhale: Confess your sin to the Lord. Agree with Him that what you have done is wrong and trust Him to forgive you. God says, “I will remember your sins no more.”

Inhale: Surrender the control of your life back to Christ, and by faith believe you are filled with the Spirit. You can trust that God directs and empowers you again, because you have asked according to His will

Spiritual Breathing has helped millions of believers grow dramatically. Practice it throughout the day as a wonderful spiritual exercise.

READ SCRIPTURE

I JOHN 1:9, NIV

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

EPHESIANS 5:18, NIV

18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.

LIVE IT

Does your day ever feel like a roller coaster of emotions? Does it ever slip by without thinking about God?

Most believers experience a turbulent road most of the time. Walking in the Spirit is a one moment at a time thing. The way we clear the path of sin is by confessing it to God (exhale). We start walking with God by asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit (inhale)

As you get ready this morning, put on some music without words, sit on the floor and breathe slowly. As you breathe out think about your sin and confess it to God. As you breath in ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, empower you, guide you and counsel you.

You can breathe spiritually throughout the day as many times as you want! Make it a moment by moment thing, not letting too long go by in between.

PRAYER

“Holy Spirit, I want to walk with you moment by moment throughout today, help me.”
