THE FOUNDATION
The Lord knew that you would need God’s promises in writing. The world is filled with lies, confusion and suffering.
Will you open your heart to God’s great promises? Will you believe and embrace God’s Words to you? If the answer is yes, you have a sword to lay down and a sword to lift up.
You will need to lay down the sword of demanding your own way; of selfishness, pride and sinful habits. That “person” died with Jesus on the cross.
You will need to take up the “Sword of the Spirit,” which is the Word of God alive in you. This sword teaches you that you are a new person in Christ, you love God above all other things, with this sword you are empowered by the Holy Spirit, to love others, to wash feet.
With this sword you also separate light and darkness, you do the work of God, you speak the Words of God.
Following the Path is based upon this foundation, Knowing God, New Life, Prayer, Share and Community are all based upon the principles and promises of God’s Word.
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.” Isaiah 40:8

EPHESIANS 6:16-17, NIV
16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
GALATIANS 2:20, NIV
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
LIVE IT
Let’s all be open to God’s Word working in our lives today.
We all need to lay down the swords of self-determination and pride, let’s do it. . .
Take a pair of scissors and cut out a sword, any kind you want. Write on it the ways that you want control and to have your own way.
Take that sword and tear it apart.
Take up the Bible. Learn it, breath it, live it, so that you can know God and follow Him by the power of His Spirit.
PRAYER
“God, help me to lay down my own sword and take up the sword of the Spirit which is the ‘Word of Truth.’ I want to walk in your light, in your truth. I need you and I love you”
