HEALING

The Gospels in the Bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) teach us about the life of Jesus. These beautiful stories show Jesus healing people both spiritually and physically. His tremendous miracles were amazing!

Jesus is the same today; He still heals people. We are called to pray for physical and spiritual healing for others and ourselves; we are called to pray in faith. The Lord is the healer of our hearts, minds, soul and body. Allow His healing touch to heal your wounds and ease your suffering. Turn your eyes in prayer to those around you, calling upon Jesus to heal them also.

READ SCRIPTURE

JAMES 5:13-16, NIV

13 “Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

MATTHEW 9:19-22, NIV

9 Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.

9 Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.

9 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”

9 Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that moment.

LIVE IT

Jesus loves to heal people. The reality is that all true believers in Jesus Christ will one day be perfectly healed when we meet the Lord in Heaven.

In this life we are encouraged to keep praying (Luke 18:1), believing, and trusting God with the brokenness in our lives. When it comes to prayer we can expect one of three answers from the Lord: “Yes,” “No,” or “Not yet!”

Pray for God’s healing touch in your life today. Invite a friend to pray with you, and find out how you can pray for their healing as well. Spend time praying together and trust in the goodness and love of God.

PRAYER

“Thank you, Lord Jesus, for being my great Healer! I receive whatever mercy and grace you lovingly choose to bless me with today. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”
