JESUS – GOD’S SON

God the Father made a decision. He sent His perfect son, Jesus into the darkness of this world.

Jesus came as a little baby, born miraculously of a virgin into a humble peasant family.

Jesus did not come to set mankind free in a political or physical sense. He came to set man free from the power and curse of sin and the eternal separation from God.

He would break the power of death.

The name Jesus means “the LORD saves” and that is what He did. He was a perfect man, and He was God.

Jesus taught us how to live and how to return to God, our Father.

READ SCRIPTURE

JOHN 3:16-17, NIV

16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

MATTHEW 1:21, NIV

21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.

LUKE 1:26-35, NIV

26 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee,

27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.

28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be.

30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.

31 You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.

32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,

33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end.”

34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”

35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

The Bible says there is “…no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” ROMANS 8:1

What great news! Pray to God today for opportunities to share this hope with others. When opportunities come up, be bold to speak of God’s great love and trust the results of your sharing to Him.
