EMPOWERED LIFE
Have you ever seen a light bulb work without electrical power? Probably not, that’s because you have to plug it into a power source to make the light come on. In the same way we need to “plug in” to God’s power to live our new life with Christ. We cannot do it on our own. We need God’s strength.
God has given you His strength through the power of the Holy Spirit who is in you. All followers of Christ have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit. He is our Counselor, Comforter, Helper, Advocate, Teacher, and Truth.
READ SCRIPTURE
ACTS 1:8, NIV
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
2 TIMOTHY 1:7, NIV
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
SEE IT
EMPOWERED
An electrical appliance without electricity has no purpose, but when
plugged in there is power and the appliance becomes function.
You were created to “plug in” to God’s power. In that power, you will
find purpose and meaning as you achieve your full potential.
LIVE IT
Don’t you love that verse in 2 Timothy you just read about God giving us a Spirit of Power!
When have you felt God’s power in you? What do you think it takes to experience that unlimited power source?
2 Corinthians 12:9 says, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’
It’s when we rely on God that we experience His power, when we admit our weakness and trust Him for strength.
Where do you feel strong? Give up those things to God and tap into His power. Where do you feel weak? Trust God in those areas and He will come through!
PRAYER
“Lord Jesus, I am little and you are big. I am weak and you are strong. Fill me with You! Give me faith to rely on You so I can experience your power.”
