There are dangers ahead.

Traps have been set along the path. The enemy of God, Satan, is against all who love God, but Satan will be defeated – God is much greater!

Be on guard against evil thoughts and distractions when you go to pray. Reject the temptation to be distracted.

3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

JAMES 4: 7-10, NIV

7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

PSALM 100:1-5, NIV

1 “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.

2 Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

5 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

When are you most free from distractions? Is it early in the morning? Perhaps it’s at night before you sleep?

Your relationship with God impacts every part of your life, so it is important to find the very best time and place to connect with God through prayer. Manage your life so that each day this can become a reality.

“Father in Heaven, it is so good to be with you. I love my time with you. I confess that my mind gets easily distracted and I struggle to stay focused.

Jesus, your Word teaches that ‘we have the mind of Christ’ (1 Corinthians 2:16). Help me through the power of your Holy Spirit to understand this great truth and to enjoy uninterrupted time with you everyday. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”
