Do you know a grumpy person that tends to complain much of the time? They are not much fun to be around.

Well God is not like that; and the Lord does not want His people to be complainers either.

There is a wonderful scripture written by Paul, a great man of God. It says, “give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

That’s pretty clear language and it takes faith and prayer to live a life of thanks.

Being thankful is God’s will for our life. It eases our suffering and gives us perspective.

Being thankful is a mindset, Give thanks daily in prayer for your loved ones, food to eat, air to breath and even sufferings.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18, NIV16 “Be joyful always;

17 pray continually;

18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

6 “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,

7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

How do you live a life of thanksgiving to God? Begin by slowing down. Life moves quickly so it is important to take time to slow down, and recognize God’s activity in your life. What are you most thankful for today . . . ?

The peace and fulfillment that Jesus gives?
The beautiful nature God has created?
A close friend? Your family?
A place to live?
Your job?
Your health?
Your ability to think?
Your ability to work with your hands?

“Father God, I truly have SO much to be thankful for. I am so sorry for the things I take for granted. Please forgive me. I want to stop right now and thank you specifically for the many gifts you have given me…In Jesus Name I pray, Amen”
