PREPARATION

When mountain climbers decide to climb a great mountain they must prepare. They gather food, water and prepare for bad weather.

In the same way, God has given you an exciting path and journey to explore. You definitely need to prepare because there is danger ahead. Prayer is our preparation and communication with God, our guide.

Jesus gave us an example to live by, He would start His day by going to His Father early in the morning to seek guidance. In the same way, approach our Father in Heaven daily to learn how to pray.

LIVE IT

In what area of your life are you most devoted?

– Write down one simple way that you can become more devoted to prayer each day. What does it mean to be ‘watchful’ in prayer?

– Write down one thing you can do to be more alert and focused during prayer. What benefit does being thankful to God bring when you seek Him in prayer?

– Practice opening your prayer time with praise and thankfulness to God.

PRAYER

“Lord Jesus, I praise you for my new life in you! I thank you for the many blessings you have given me. I take this time to speak of these specifically. I want to have a clear and focused mind when I come to you in prayer each day. Help me to discipline my time so that I can meet with you first thing in the morning before the demands of the day are upon me. Lord, it is your strength and your Spirit who will help me do this. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.”
