If you have received Christ, you are a member of the family of God. You are a citizen of God’s Kingdom and you are God’s ambassador.

An ambassador is a representative for an important person, like a king. An ambassador lives in a foreign land, but still receives his orders from his King back home. As His Ambassador, Jesus sends you into a “foreign land” (the world around you) to tell others about the Kingdom of God.

We live in the world and get our instructions from Jesus. We do not adopt the ways of the “foreign” world. We are “in the world, but not of the world.”

READ SCRIPTURE

II CORINTHIANS 5:20, NIV

20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.

JOHN 17:15-16, NIV

15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

LIVE IT

Take a moment to stop and think about how great, powerful and wonderful is The Kingdom of God. You are a member, a citizen, a son or daughter of God’s Kingdom. You are loved and forgiven, even if you don’t feel like it sometimes.

Where can you help expand the Kingdom today? Maybe it is in your own heart? Maybe just accept the Lord’s forgiveness.  God is not asking you to be perfect, He will help you! You are His ambassador, His representative; He has work for you to do.

God has given you the keys to the kingdom, which is our faith in Jesus, for Jesus is our King.

You can expand the Kingdom today by walking in the Spirit, loving others and being a good representative of Christ in all that you do.

PRAYER

“Father in Heaven, help me to live as your ambassador sharing the love and light of Jesus in all that I do today. In your name I pray, Amen.”
