FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
Have you ever seen a healthy tree with delicious fruit?
It is truly a miracle.
The Bible uses a tree as an example to teach us how God works in our lives.
GALATIANS 5:22,23 NIV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
JOHN 15:1-5, NIV
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
Go to your fridge and grab an apple, orange, banana, canned peaches, or any fruit you can. If you’re not around a kitchen get a picture online of some fruit.
As you eat your fruit (or look at it on the computer), ask yourself, what kind of fruit is in your life? Does it look like ‘love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness faithfulness, gentleness and self-control’(Gal 5:22)? Is it sweet like the Holy Spirit?
Our fruit tells us what kind of tree we are. Ask God today to produce in you the Spirit’s fruit as you rely on him so there won’t be any question what kind of tree you are.
“Lord Jesus, I want my life to produce fruit that is pleasing to you. Change me from the inside out.”
